Evan Spencer is the manager and an expert piercer at Enigma Professional Piercing Studios. Evan has been a member of the Association of Professional Piercings for 20 years. Piercing now for 22 years, he is known for his precision, professionalism, and approachable demeanor, Evan ensures every client has a safe and comfortable experience while helping them achieve their ideal look. Focused on guiding clients thru the piercing process, Evan prides himself in facilitating relaxed, comfortable experiences while working to alleviate any anxieties clients may have about the piercing experience. Passionate about the art of piercing, and high end jewelry, he stays dedicated to maintaining Enigma’s reputation for excellence and high standards.

When not in the studio, Evan is a dedicated cat dad to his two sweet babies, and enjoys spending time and traveling with his partner. He loves and values his clients, and always enjoys running into the folks he’s pierced outside of work, whether that happens to be at a coffee shop, or a hiking trail, it never gets old.

Dan Steinbacher is a professional body piercer with a career spanning nearly two decades. He began piercing in 2007 and became a proud member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP) in 2012 — a reflection of his dedication to maintaining the highest standards of safety, ethics, and care in the industry. Known for his precision, patience, and professionalism, Dan has worked all over the country with thousands of clients throughout the years, from first-timers to piercing collectors.

Dan specializes in freehand piercing techniques, meaning he works without the use of clamps. This approach allows for a more natural and gentle experience, greater precision, comfort,  and reflects his deep understanding of anatomy and client care. His calm, thoughtful demeanor puts people at ease, and his focus on communication ensures every session is collaborative and respectful from start to finish.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dan has called San Diego home on and off since 2016. When he’s not in the studio, he’s likely on two wheels — riding his motorcycle or bicycle — lifting weights, or exploring nature. He shares his life with his partner, Jenna, and their four beloved animals: three cats (Onyx, Frog, and Poe) and a dog named Lupin.

Born and raised in San Diego, I’ve been fortunate to spend my entire piercing career here since 2012. While I work with all types of piercings, my favorites are surface, nipple, and lobe piercings, which I particularly enjoy because of their unique challenges and creative possibilities. I’ve also had the opportunity to guest spot in reputable shops in Palm Springs and Tijuana, gaining valuable experience along the way. Fluent in Spanish, I’m proud to serve a diverse range of clients. Outside of piercing, I’m a proud fur mom to my 4-year-old Chihuahua, Hazel, and when I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle or exploring local food spots. I pride myself on being approachable and ensuring every client feels comfortable and confident throughout their experience. Above all, I’m deeply passionate about body art and love helping clients find the perfect piercing and jewelry that makes them feel their best.

With over 20 years in the body piercing industry, Lou is a highly skilled and respected piercer known for his precision, artistry, and expertise in surface piercings and ear curations. A member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP) since 2008, he has shared his knowledge through both online and in-person classes at APP conferences.

Lou also volunteered with the APP’s outreach committee, representing the organization at NEHA events and major tattoo conventions to promote safe piercing practices.

When he’s not piercing, Lou enjoys the focus and strategy of a good chess game.
