Legal Requirements at Enigma
Enigma Piercing follows California law and best practices for age and ID requirements for body piercings. Whether you’re a teen, a parent of a minor, or an adult booking your next piece, here’s everything you need to know before your appointment.

Children’s Earlobes: Minimum age is 8 years old. (Infant earlobe piercings are not regularly offered—please contact us for inquiries.)
Surface, Nipple, and Genital Piercings: Restricted to 18+ only.
Tongue Piercings: Reserved for 16+ clients.
Cheek Piercings: 18+
All Other Piercings: Minimum age is 14 years old.

We comply with all California state and county laws requiring proper identification.
Valid Photo ID: A government-issued photo ID (e.g., passport, entry card, driver’s license) is required for all clients.
Military IDs: Cannot be used as identification due to federal law. Photos or photocopies of military IDs are also prohibited.

Clients under 18 may receive piercings with a parent or legal guardian present and appropriate documentation:
For Minors (8–12 Years Old):
Birth Certificate
For Minors (14+):
• Birth Certificate AND
Valid Photo ID (state ID, driver’s license, passport, or entry card, school ID).
Legal Guardians:
If signing for a minor as a legal guardian, you must provide:Custodial agreement, affidavit, or guardianship paperwork.
